brooker on intelligent design

Creationists reject Darwin's theory of evolution on the grounds that it is "just a theory". This is a valid criticism: evolution is indeed merely "a theory", albeit one with ten billion times more credence than the theory of creationism - although, to be fair, the theory of creationism is more than just a theory. It's also a fairy story. And children love fairy stories, which is presumably why so many creationists are keen to have their whimsical gibberish taught in schools.

oh charlie, how you rock.

no, not at all.
why would you ask that?
have i suggested that i do somewhere? if so, please point it out to me, as i have no desire to misrepresent myself.

on creationists;
i have a problem with those creationists(whatever their religious belief, but they mostly seem to be protestant christians) who seek to have their doctrine taught as a couonterpoint to darwin.

i find it counter to sense and an exercise in folly.
whether you belive in ba'al or set, shiva or YHWH, i find it unnaceptable that you woudl push those views on others.

i have no time for those who wish to reduce darwin to the level of a a faith based belief, and equate one set of idea with another purely on the basis tha they are both sets of ideas.
science is a method, and religion is a belief system. these are not equivalent.

the scientific method is a tool for understanding the world we live in.
scientific method has made our lives as they are today possible, and to dismiss that method is to be a fool.
